Don Bosco High & Technical School Private ITI, Krishnanagar, was started in the year 1969 to empower the poor village boys of Nadia and Murshidabad districts of West Bengal India. It was a joint venture of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Kolkata Province and Bishop Louis Morrow SDB of Krishnanagar Diocese.
During the past 45 years of its existence the institute has placed thousands of Poor Boys in good positions in the job placement ladder. There are thousands of them working in Indian Railways, major industries like: Indian Railways, Tata, Godrej, Larsen and Turbo, Jessop and many others, hundreds of ex-students have started their own work-shops like: welding, carpentry, tailoring and machine shops. All these were possible because of the Don Bosco Technical Institute at Krishnagar. As the techniques improved Don Bosco Technical school Krishnagar too tired to be at par with the new inventions and development in Industries. Today Don Bosco Technical school Krishnagar has two years ITI course for 4 trades, non-formal courses for 6 trades, Modular Employable Skill (MES) courses and BASE (Bosco Academic Skill for Employer). Seeing the success of the students many more youth are registering their names for training.
Many students are belonging to poor families. We have MCC sponsorship and boarding facilities. The students especially who failed in exam or school dropout has now the opportunity to having some technical skills. The professional instructors have been appointed for the Formal & Non-Formal courses. The students are giving good performance in both Technical and co-curricular activities. The parents are very happy and appreciated the initiatives.
